How it all began
The Wanderlust Vagabonds is a collection of songwriters and seasoned musicians that specifically target their written and recorded material to main stream national and international touring artist. It is with the intent of national touring artist leveraging the catalog of available songs for self promotion. Or essentially "Pitch recording sessions"
The core team includes several different vocalist that match closely to a specific established touring artist for targeted songs. The Wanderlust Vagabonds was never established to be a touring or self promoting songwriting group.
Introduction to streaming services is also utilized as a repository along with "testing the waters" for level of interest with each song.
Originally founded by session guitarist, engineer and producer, Steven A Tankersley with ties in Texas along with Nashville and over 3 decades, the team has now grown to 12 core people. With the occasional additional vocalist brought in for select songs written and recorded.
With an ever changing music industry and rules constantly in motion, The Wanderlust Vagabonds being an unorthodox and new approach to song writing, recording and promotion. The Wanderlust Vagabonds now established as a professional writing and publishing group. Including an established Federal Trademark and alignment with BMI Music.
